Summer Outdoor Pickleball Volunteers Needed
CPC is an outdoor summer club. We run Open and Level Play at 3 locations in Calgary during the summer.
We need volunteers for a variety of roles: “court hosts” (equipment organization and distribution), computer scheduling, organizing tournaments and events, mentors to help inexperienced players, planning social activities and more…
FOR FURTHER INFORMATION or to be added to a list of volunteers who we reach out to when we need assistance:
Please contact volunteer@calgarypickleballclub.ca
Why volunteer with CPC? Because without volunteers, the CPC wouldn’t exist.
CPC Volunteers and Host Appreciation Day
The Calgary Pickleball Club would like to thank all the dedicated volunteers who help us be the great club that we are. From board members to play hosts and tournament helpers, we are so grateful for everyone that generously give their time to the club. We strive to thank those who help by offering something a bit special as a thank you. If you have suggestions as to how you want to be rewarded as a volunteer, please reach out.
Officiating Programs
There are four levels of referees:
Trainee: this is someone who has completed a referee training class or clinic. They can then practice refereeing and start gaining experience until they feel confident to be assessed to the next level.
Level 1: This is the first level of accreditation. Level 1 referees should be able to keep accurate score, watch for incorrect servers and out-of-position players, and call foot faults on the baseline during the serve and at the NVZ when balls have been volleyed.
Level 2: This is the second level of accreditation. Level 2 referees should possess the basic skills and knowledge to competently referee most matches at any skill level and will be capable of handling typical on-court situations that arise during tournament matches, including medal matches.
Certification: This is the highest level of referees. They can officiate all levels of play at sanctioned tournaments, including professional matches.
For more resources and information about the Officiating Program in Canada, please refer to the Pickleball Canada website:
Certified Pickleball Instructors

You can also find instructors certified with NCCP Canada‘s National Coaching Certification Program or certified under ITPTA (International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association). Please visit their websites to search for certified instructors in your area.
Pickleball Coaching Professionals
*The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) provides standardized, inclusive, and safe sport education to coaches and coach developers across 65 sports in Canada including pickleball and is endorsed by Pickleball Canada. More information can be found on Pickleball Canada.
*The International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) is the world leader in developing teaching standards in the sport of pickleball. When an instructor meets those standards they are awarded a certification.

- What is DUPR, and how does it relate to my rating?
DUPR stands for Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating. It’s a global rating system used to evaluate a player’s skill level, based on match results rather than just assessments or drills.
🔢 How does DUPR work?
- DUPR uses an algorithm that tracks your performance in games (both wins and losses).
- It considers who you play, how close the scores are, and whether games are singles or doubles.
- The more games you log, the more accurate your DUPR becomes.
🧾 How do I get a DUPR rating?
- Create a free account at mydupr.com or through the DUPR app.
- Link your account with Calgary Pickleball Club!!
- Record your matches—this can be done automatically through tournaments or manually via partner verification.
- You need a minimum of 25 scored matches for your rating to stabilize.
🏓 How does CPC use DUPR?
- CPC accepts DUPR as proof of your skill level for lessons, drills, and rated events.
- For example, to join 3.0+ sessions or clinics, you must have an existing club, IPTPA, CTPR, CLUB or DUPR rating with at least 40 games logged.
- You can also get your rating at a session hosted by Club 315, Mega courts or the Calgary Pickleball Center. Please send proof to membership@calgarypickleballclub.ca
📊 DUPR Rating Scale (for reference)
Level | Skill Description |
|---|---|
2.5 | Beginner: just learning rules and technique |
3.0 | Intermediate: can keep a rally going |
3.5 | More control and some strategy |
4.0+ | Advanced competitive play and tactics |
